 Team Summary

Once upon a time....

Originally, it was only myself and my brother in law (Zac) just making ourselves a private paintball field to play around in. His dad (my father in law) has a few acres of land that he wasn't using so he very kindly allowed us to dig up/destroy one of his fields! Paul and Brent also bought markers at this time and helped out with the destructive/constructive process. Over time we invited some more  friends over to play with spare markers that we had, naturally they all bought markers of their own and things progressed until we had a good group of players...

Zac and I eventually decided that we wanted to take it a stage further. I was the most organised and paintball obsessed of us and I really wanted to create a team to play against like minded people. I picked the most enthusiastic and paintball crazed of the players we had at the time and branded them for life with a name that will be long on the lips of all mankind...
#Que dramatic thunder lightning and stuff#....

......I see you've already guessed where this is heading anyway... Trench Rats!

I chose the name as our field largely consists of deep trench runs and deep bunkers that we dug out with a JCB and playing there regularly it seemed only right that our home ground was credited in our title!!! Rats are pretty cool little rodents, smart too and you find them in trenches so rats felt the appropriate choice for us and sounded good to all so Trench Rats it was! Trench Demons of Super Death would probably sound much cooler but didn't really fit the bill....

We all wear the Trench Rat symbol on our gear and some of us have been known to have the symbol on their cars, paint pots, hoppers, households items... pretty much wherever they can stick them!!! as far as common equipment we're all quite individual although the British army DPM is seen commonly during winter months and our combat jackets have the Trench Rat symbol on the left sleeve.

We play scenario paintball because we like to have a story to be a part of and an objective to achieve rather than just 'running and gunning' although we like the idea of trying tourny play out as something different and fun but have no immediate plans. Trophies always look cool though if you can get them don't they?!

Three of us played at the Children of the Corn 2 game in Somerset. We fought for the C.r.a.P team. We lost... but I like to think we gave back a fair amount of what we received and had a blinding day out to boot!

The 'Rats are planning to  attend as many games as we can in the 2010 season. We are still recruiting new members and our newest, Martin eagerly awaits his birthday gauntlet, a Trench Rat tradition. Basically, We all wait in the middle of the home field, randomly spread out and he has to make it from one end of the field to the other whilst we shoot him, fun eh??? ( We're not all that bad - he is allowed to shoot back)

And they all lived happily ever after....
