Team Summary
A small group of friends started going to a couple of walk-ons very late 2007 and never thought it would evolve in to this, after scrapping at the site month in, month out the S.P.S was born and hasn’t looked back. Our first big game was Operation Flashpoint in 2008 and we have been to as many as we could since. The team has gone from strength to strength taking on new players and becoming a team of 10 full time players (with some subs) with a diverse back ground, international players and a wide age range (Our youngest Gold Jeff being nominated for best young player 2009) . All with the same out look on the game, fun and games, but getting the job done with honour.
As a team there is only the one main rule, and that is if anyone cheats they wont ever play with us again! We pride ourselves on achievement through ability, or stupidity, and would rather lose than know we won dishonestly. I'm proud that every one of us plays with the same outlook. You will always find the S.P.S on the front lines in the thick of it making things happen even if it means risking ourselves to get the objective done. We play with a smile and are known for being daft in the face of danger (Skipping in to battle on the mad game at Mad Max with no guns, or charging the bridge at armo with just a barrel and a nun’s head dress! Just to name a couple).
Most of all, nearly all of you have met us and many of you have become very good friends of ours and that’s what we enjoy about this sport is the fact we travel the length and the breadth of the country month in month out and get to play with and against friends…..and get blind drunk with them the night before.
We make sure that we do all we can to keep new players coming in to the sport, at big games we invite people to run with us so they are not left alone at an event and feel part of a team, help on the forums and give a good support network for new starters at walk-ons and such, many of us cant be away from the sport to long and find ourselves marshalling when there isn’t a game! Most of all we play with our friends have fun and go hard, both on and off the field.
